Adopt a Possum from the Ironbark Forest
Possums and gliders of the Ironbark box-gum woodland are quietly disappearing — not from predators, but from an invisible shortage: tree hollows.
Common Ringtail Possum
Builds dreys (leafy nests) in dense shrubs and trees. Highly sensitive to habitat loss and hollow shortages.
Common Brushtail Possum
Depends on large old-growth tree hollows that take 120+ years to form. Urban expansion is rapidly reducing hollow availability.
Greater Glider
Australia's largest gliding marsupial. Listed Endangered in 2022. Needs old ironbark hollows to survive — there are no alternatives.
What Your $50 Funds
- Handcrafted wooden nesting box designed for local possum and glider species
- Installation in a selected mature ironbark tree by a Ganbu Country ranger
- GPS-logged location added to the Community Fauna Watch network
- A photo update sent to your Shared Impact Dashboard after first occupancy detected
- You'll be listed as the founding steward of this nesting site
Possums hold deep cultural significance to Kulin Nation peoples as part of the living story of Country. Supporting their habitats is an act of shared care that connects your everyday choices to the health of this place.
You're a Possum Steward!
You'll receive a personal update with a photo when your nesting box is first occupied — usually within one to three field seasons.
